Designing the Building Facade of the Iran Concrete Institute

Tehran, Iran

Anahita Khodadadi, 2009

The design objectives of this project was to demonstrate the flexible nature of concrete in creating free form and its suitability to produce precast structural components at the same time. The idea that reinforced concrete can produce both free forms and modular building components shaped the initial concept of designing the facade. Furthermore, within the design process, the transparency of the building facade and users’ privacy have been considered at the same time. Also, efforts have been made to minimize the required modification in the current building construction and only re-design the building façade.
