Design Objectives have been creating an urban iconic building where the required facilities for scientific experiments and research works on new technologies can be provided. At the same time, creation of a vibrant environment for social, educational and cultural events and an building an energy efficient architecture where sustainable activities can be practiced have be taken into account.

The core design concept was based on combination of the past Iranian architecture technologies and the present modern developments in a single integrated design. Therefore, the geometry of an ancient dome prototype have been employed to cover the main social space via a lattice free-form spatial structure.  The most suitable design pattern of the free-form shell has been acquired through the parametric design of the structure using Formex algebra.
