Optimization of Thin Shells through Parametric Regeneration
2014-2015

Anahita Khodadadi

The main objective of this study is to briefly describe the geometrical properties and structural performance of the some well-known thin shell structures, re-design them by using minimum energy surface method and establish the optimized grids of the corresponding surfaces. One of the studied shells is the main roof of Southern Cross station in Melbourne renovated and re-developed by Nicolas Grimshaw within 2002 and 2006.
