Overview

Traditional ornaments in Iranian architecture have both aesthetical and functional roles. With an emphasis on their latter role, they are classified regarding their materiality into seven main categories: stone ornaments, brick ornaments, tiles, gypsum and lime plasters, wood ornaments, glasses and mirrors, and metal ornament. The main objective of this book is to represent these roles and provide information about the pathology and repairing techniques suitable for each category.
