Tehran Music Hall contains three halls specified for folklore, recital and symphonic concerts. The main design idea inspired from interference of sound waves in a polyphonic music. A polyphonic music is a texture consisting two or more independent melodic voices, as opposed to music with just one voice. As sound is transmitted through spherical compression waves, three music sources, of which the sound waves are interfered, were assumed to shape the main body of the project. Spherical shapes changed into ellipsoidal volumes and some other spaces combined with the whole body to meet the architectural requirements. Double curved forms were also applied to epitomize the notion of polyphonic music;
